FairWave Specialty Coffee Collective

2022-Present

At FairWave, we're shaking up the industry by creating a collective of local specialty coffee brands that share best practices, resources, and innovation. We're developing restorative practices in our coffee buying. And we're doing it together while impacting the local communities where our brands thrive.

My accountabilities include brand architecture, audience segmentation, consumer & trend research, new product strategies, cafe menu strategy, and DTC revenue across The Collective.

In my first 18 months, I launched a new website, doubled the number of roasting brands in The Collective, created The FairWave Foundation, and established an Inclusion Council for internal DEI+B work.

 

I returned to Barkley to consult and took on a full-time role leading one of the agency’s largest clients, Motel 6. As a $1B organization, I worked directly with the VP of Marketing & C-Suite executives to plan strategy & research projects with our brand strategist, develop award-winning advertising campaigns, and build brand reputation & trust. I grew Barkley’s portion of the business by $40k/mo. by consolidating additional services and delivering results for the client and Barkley.

Visit Overland Park

2018 – 2021

Visit OP is the official destination marketing organization for the City of Overland Park and hundreds of OP hotels, restaurants, and attractions.  As the lead marketer, I developed our data-driven marketing strategy, lead internal digital & content teams, and manage external agencies.

As VP of Marketing, I oversaw a total budget of $2.1M in funding invested in digital advertising, destination storytelling, influencer outreach, and partnerships. When the pandemic flipped the script on tourism, I stepped up to provide crisis consulting to navigate a series of difficult decisions, leading to a positive outcome for the organization, the City, and the team.

Goodwill of Western Kansas and Eastern Missouri

2015 – 2018

Goodwill searched for a seasoned marketer to apply for-profit branding skills in a nonprofit setting. I succeeded in increasing mission awareness, improving brand reputation, and growing development and donation strategies.  I led a team of 10 overseeing all marketing, public relations, communications, fundraising, volunteers, community programs, and special events. Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas operates independently of Goodwill International with 20 locations and a $25 million operating budget.

Key accomplishments included an overhaul of branding, a new website launch, 8% brand growth on NPS, securing digital marketing grants, and double-digit growth in donation incidents year-over-year.

Houlihan’s Restaurants, Inc.

2007–2014

Developed marketing strategy and built a collaborative brand marketing team to serve 130+ company and franchise-owned restaurants across the US. My team managed paid media, public relations, cause-marketing, events & sponsorship, and local store marketing. 

Key accomplishments included launching the first-ever CRM program for the brand, championing a brand-wide cause-marketing campaign with Save The Music Foundation, and propelling fine-dining concepts into double-digit sales growth through scalable, local marketing strategies during the recession.

2003–2007

In my first grown-up job I grew up fast. I dove head first managing test products, photography, and cause marketing for Barkley's largest client, Sonic Drive-In. As account manager, I was the client's first call as we planned the promotional calendar, developed creative briefs, and executed high-budget photo & video shotos. I worked on award-winning campaigns with some of the best in the business.
